Our Story
We met in January 2016 as co-workers, a few months after Catherine moved to St. Louis. We ended up getting dinner
together
alone
on Ryan’s first day. Catherine wasn’t thrilled with Ryan, but appreciated his work ethic, intellect, humor, and enthusiasm.
We went out to drinks a few times, both with colleagues and by ourselves, and became friends. Sparks started to fly and Catherine tried to make a move on Ryan.
He turned her down.
Two months later it was Ryan’s turn to make a move. Ryan, always full of grand gestures, planned an entire day for our first date. It included brunch at a winery, symphony tickets, dinner, ice breaker games, and cocktails. It was a perfect first adventure.
Three years of adventures later, Ryan proposed while walking along a beach in Maui. Catherine was thrilled to say yes.
While we now live in Washington, D.C., Seattle is one of our favorite cities.
